Saw the following disclaimer on an eBay auction - guess the buyer hasn't learned about eBay buyer protection yet! NOTE TO ALL BUYERS: BECAUSE OF A FEW PAST INCIDENTS, I NEED TO CLARIFY THAT I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST OR DAMAGED LETTERS/ITEMS SENT BY REGULAR MAIL WITHOUT TRACKING. I WILL NOT ENTERTAIN COMPLAINTS OR CLAIMS REGARDING THESE ISSUES. CANADA POST OR SIMILAR AGENCIES, POSTAL WORKERS, MAIL MEN & WOMAN ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST MAIL, LONG DELIVERY TIMES, MISSING MAIL AND DAMAGES ENROUTE AND NOT ME. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHOOSE AN APPROPRIATE DELIVERY METHOD SUCH AS XPRESSPOST WITH TRACKING THAT I OFFER AS WELL, IT IS MORE EXPENSIVE BUT I DO NOT MAKE PROFIT ON SHIPPING & HANDLING FEES, THANKYOU.
As long as the seller follows, to a 'T' (and I mean to a CAPITAL 'T') the sellers rules, he won't have to worry. However, just ONE slip up, or mistake, and he's cooked. Regardless of what the seller says, there are rules that must be followed, and regrettably, the scale is tipped in the buyers direction....no matter what the seller says. Delivery confirm and insurance on packages under $250, signature confirm and insurance on packages over $250. ebay/Paypal doesn't care about the sellers demands or 'express instructions'...it is the seller's responsibility until it arrives at the proper, confirmed, address. End of story, unfortunately, and that is what makes selling on ebay very risky nowadays.
LOL That's almost as funny as the trucks that have signs on the back of them saying "Not Responsible for Broken Windshields". You cannot state that you are not responsible and have it be so. You are responsible for your actions, and the seller is the one who posts the item sold. Of course it's the sellers responsibility to see the buyer gets the goods. Otherwise the crook could ship an empty box. It conforms my belief that many people are much more ignorant than they believe themselves to be. Unfortunately, many of these people think they can "wish away" their responsibilities and somehow deprive others of their rights.
