This is for finds of anyone of you guys under 18. I myself have found many coppers and wheats, some pre-60 nickels, and a 1943-P war nickel. Let's see yours!
I'm 25 so I'm out but let me just say I found my first 1943-P war nickel about 5 minutes ago. It only took going through 380 rolls, lol.
Let's start a new thread just for bald guys with pot bellies! Oh wait, that's the one that is already going. Just kidding, I can see why you would want to see who else it out there in your age group doing this. Wish I would have thought of this in HS. find a couple Kennedy's and you got the cash for a good date night!
Not trying to be mean or anything. I just think that we need to wait until some of these posted polls are over and see what people agree on for results threads. If we have people starting a new thread every time they search a couple of boxes of nickels, this forum is going to be a mess (and it's headed in that direction already). Some people want a results thread for each denomination of coin...I don't want to post in 3 different threads after I do a box of halves, dimes and nickels nor do I want have to read the different 3 threads to see how everyone else is doing then go to the YN results thread to see how you guys are doing. I feel that we need ONE results thread that is current for each month. Huge finds may deserve their own threads, etc.
I am for whatever you guys decide. I can see some advantages to seperate threads, but I understand you wanting to keep them all in one. I am along for the ride, so whatever you guys decide, I will abide...
I have been a moderator on one of the worlds largest forums for several years. In my experience these issues take care of themselves. If a 'lack of interest' those threads will 'die' and active threads will stay towards the top. I can understand young people wanting peers responding to their threads. IMO it is good that young people are taking an interest in coin collecting. My son has started going to coin auctions with me and is collecting coins. He has purchased several old coins at auctions and we have been going through and sorting out copper pennies. I will point him towards this thread and forum.
I think you do not have to read any thread but those you choose. People tend to read those threads that are 'most like themselves'. Younger people may search more pocket change or pennies while 'older people' may prefer $500 boxes of halves or boxes of quarters, etc. I think a 'younger thread' is fine and if there is not enough interest it will 'just die off'.
