Hello, I pulled a few hundred dollars from an ATM yesterday and found something unusual. 10 $20 notes, all consecutive serial number, and ALL star notes. They are Series 2006, IG 05945344* thru IG 05945353*. All are very crispy, no folds, lines, etc. What kind of value would these have? Would it be worth listing on eBay or something similar? Thank you for your thoughts.
Why not check completed ebay auctions for yourself to see what if anything above face such simiar notes may have sold for, then weigh the effort to image and list them and off set listing costs to see if they will earn you anything worth all that... It's really not at all unusual to get consecutive serials at a bank or ATM, nor is it that uncommon to find star notes. Every new strap opened will contain consecutive serial numbers. It may just be your first time and therefore unusal per your experiences to date. If you deal with withdrawing a lot of cash from a bank on a regular basis it would be less and less uncommon.
Those bills come from a run of 3,200,000 so by them self they might not bring a premium any time soon but if you can find some one who collects runs you might be able to sell them for a little over FV. Also I agree Krispy Knows his stuff when it comes to paper money but finding a run of consecutive stars is not that common and like urbanchemist said if it was me I would have taken more money out. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the replies. Krispy, I realize that consecutive notes are common as I have seen many. The fact that they were all consecutive star notes is what caught my eye. I have looked on eBay and found a wide range of prices, which is why I asked the question on this site.
