It's a mis-strike of the sort that's most favored - more than 50% off-center and with the date retained.

As to the value, supply and demand determines.

13 euros seems reasonable. Maybe 20 is too. 100 is probably much too much.

Does anbody else see a double strike? Check the top left elde, it seems there is another semi-circular strike.

Looks like it to me, also.

    already 176 euro, that's about $200.

    looks like a popular coin.

its an error and normally error coins dont come out of the mint station - its very rare to find such an mistake - because of this the auction got a high bid.

normally price for such a mistake is about 15-30 euro / 20-40 USD / 176 Euro is a very expensive and not real.

    strange messages

in the first you say that it's very rare

and in the second you say it's very expensive

isn't that normal that rare coins are expensive?
i would pay a lot for that coin, more than 176 euro...

yes its rare thats right but 176 Euro is too expensive on Ebay - the value of such coins is about 15-30 Euro not more.

how do you explain that then?

the bidders have bought several euro-coins, expensive ones.

so i guess they know what they are doing...

how can the value be 15-30 and the bids almost 200 euro?

doesn't that say that the value is maybe underestimated?

these coins you find more and more ... I am sure a lot of them were faked ...

here are some example of similar coins like obove :

    10 Cent error http://cgi.ebay.de/10-Cent-Fehlprae...434879650QQcategoryZ23207QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    or 20 Cent Luxembourg: http://cgi.ebay.de/20-cent-LUXEMBOU...432501896QQcategoryZ23207QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

the price for a coin is dependent of what others want to pay - if you say this price is ok - its yours - my opinion is that to much of this error coins exist - we dont know how much coins are real and how much are faked "for money" -

to be honest, the 2 coins you show, aren't special at all.

is that comparable with the 2 euro coin that i have shown?

more than 50% off + double strike

i haven't seen that for sale, ever

that's why i posted this message here

I suggest you to buy official coin sets or gold coins - for example euro coins of Vatican or San Marino or Monaco, these coins have a good constanticy and good possibilties for appreciation.
    best wishes

    wow,speaking of an offcenter !
I guess that the coin is rare!
How do they come in rotation?
I 'm a coincollector for about 20 year, only belgian coins,
but I never saw a belgian eurocoin likes this.
jos_coin, what do you think of the value of this coin?
    I guess it's a coin of 300 to 350 euro's .maybe more?

i would certainly give over 200 euro, without thinking :)

but i don't know what they will do

already over 500 visitors in a couple of days.

    it's unpredictable

has anyone seen similar coins for sale?
