Even if they did it wouldn't do any good. Unless you have a paid on-line subscription.

In order to see it, you do have to have a subscription to CoinWorld. I should have mentioned that. Due to copyright laws, I can't post the article here.

I read it. I found it quite informative. I had to reskim the article to remember what it was about. I more-or-less like to keep all the issues of COIN WORLD that I get. I have a small collection in the corner of my room. About 6 months ago I cleaned out the previous years issues so now my pile is growing.

I would agree with your accessment Bill, as this seem to be a running battle between Ed and a high roller from eBay. I'll say this on the subject; Ed has done his home work on the subject and from the reaction of the seller, the truth must be hurting a great deal more than they would like to admit.:kewl:

    Basically-
Midas said he was just 'booted' from eBay coin forum for bringing up the issue of self slabbers selling there coins on the internet. He commented on the January article of CoinWorld entitled "alphabet soup". He says that internet buyers are at a disadvantage becasue they can't see the coins they are buying and that these non-independant grading services take advantage of that. He also comments on how the new collector feels when he gets a great deal on a MS-70 Franklin only to realize it's not so. He encourages all to do their homework and for others who are knowledgable about it to let the newcomers about it.
This is just a brief summary-if I got anything wrong just tell me! :)

One thing you missed was his pointing out that a great many of these four tier grading services are owned by the same powerseller dealers who are selling the bulk of them on ebay as describing them as "independant" grading services. In other words, grade and slab your own coin (with an inflated grade) and then sell it with the representation that it has graded by a disinterested third party.

Thanks for the brief summary there, Bill. And yes Midas, you've got my compliments there. Well done!
