Here is what I got from my latest box of Nickels: 1940's - 6 1950's - 21 (including 52-S & 53-S) 1960's - 61 (including 69-S) 1964's - 95 No Silver, no Buffalo's, no 2009's, and lots of dirty fingers... Thanks---Steve (That is almost $5.00 worth out of $100 in Nickels for the 1964's....jeez...)
I don't save them for the sake of saving them. I just mostly posted the numbers to reinforce your statement. THERE ARE TONS OF THEM OUT THERE. What I actually do is throw all my 60's in to a nickel box instead of dumping them. When that nickel box gets full of 60's, then I dump it too. It's kind of like finding $100 extra every couple of months....
Steve- You should probably post this over in the results thread rather than starting a new thread: http://www.cointalk.com/t10176/
You know, I thought about that, and would gladly do so. I am new to this forum, but I thought in the long run, it would probably be easier if each denomination had it's own thread. That way, if someone were a half searcher they would not have to go through all the posts of nickels, dimes, etc... Just an idea that might warrant consideration... Thanks---Steve
I think it's about time for that thread to be retired, it was started 4 months after I graduated from high school! There is a whole new "roll hunting" forum now and I feel having threads for individual denominations is the way to go. I really don't care about reading through all of the "box of halves-skunk" posts when I am interested in reading about what has been found for nickels, pennies, quarters etc. That's not to say that users shouldn't be able to continue posting there if they want to but I feel it's continued use should not really be encouraged.
These good ideas are currently being discussed in another thread. I believe it's the poll that chicken_little started. We are considering creating a new results thread each month. Many of us search more than one denomination and it doesn't make sense to post our results in multiple threads. Let's discuss further in these threads though: http://www.cointalk.com/t200672/ http://www.cointalk.com/t200680/
