Is it possible for a clad error to occur on both sides? Found a dime today that looks to be just that. currently cannot upload picture.

i know that they can happen. i have seen a quarter on here i believe with both clad layers missing. do you have access to a balance ( scale)?

cant tell if it is just the pictures but from those it looks like surface dirt. the way `to tell would be weighing it. a normal clad dime weighs 2.27 grams. if it is a true missing clad there should be a significant amount missing off the total weight. im no expert but im sure someone else with more knowledge will come along.

Awesome much appreciated. What made me question it was the no silver showing. haven't seen anything like it.

Yeah. it also sounds lighter when dropped compared to a normal dime. though it could just me wanting it to be.

When compared to the rim, it appears to be smaller.

I thought you said something else. the rim is different size. i suppose in the end it needs to weighing.

I agree, with the little knowledge that I have a weight will resolve this question. I Just bought a scale for this purpose and to find copper coins. Please let us know what the weight is than this will help figure out if clad is missing.

Is it smaller in diameter than a normal dime?
