I am looking to see if anyone who collects National Bank Notes can tell me if there are notes from a Bank called Dixie Savings Bank (New Orleans,LA)?

One of my step-sister's relatives founded that bank. I'd like to get her a note.

    Any help is appreciated,

Are you perhaps making a reference to the famous $10 note from which the term " Dixie " was derived ?

If the bank is called "Dixie Savings Bank", without the word "National" in the title, then it isn't a National Bank and couldn't have issued National Bank Notes.

It might have issued obsolete notes, though, if it existed before 1865. You'd need a different catalog to check for those.

ok, thanks guys. My sister said that her grandparents founded the bank and it existed in the depression in New Orleans. I was hoping that they might have issued a National and I was going to surprise her with one.

It was actually Dixie savings, but was likely a Savings and loan and not a bank.
It was worth a try and I knew that I'd get the answer here.

If anyone has any idea of something close, please let me know.

    Thanks again!

And there are banks that changed names over their time too. But I've not heard of one.
