And THIS one's PCGS certified: 1997 11c PIECE LINCOLN PENNY STRUCK ON ROOSEVELT DIME EXTREMELY RARE* PCGS MS 64 The funny part is the description, which has this as a "1997 cent struck onto a 1999 Roosevelt dime". So, not only did a dime get in with the cent planchets, it TRAVELED BACKWARD THROUGH TIME to do it!
That is uber weird. Pretty sure its a messed up listing. I can't see a date on the dime to begin with.
Why hasn't it sold yet at only $3800 ? It is PCGS 64 and shows quantum action going back in time. Maybe this is a reality check about the value of such double denominations.
Looks like the seller corrected the listing: "A 1997 LINCOLN MEMORIAL PENNY STRUCK ONTO A 1997 ROOSEVELT DIME,"
Well,at least he's not asking 10 million like the last guy! But seriously, does anyone know what something like this would REALISTICLY be worth? The reason I am asking is that tomarro,my brother in law is coming over to sell me some "junk silver" and asked me if i'm interested in error coins.I asked what he had and guess what he said...a penny struck on a dime! Now I'm no expert, but I think I will be able to tell if it is real,or some sort of "squeeze job" But with all the posts about this sort of thing lately I am wondering how rare are these? I don't want to high jack the thread, but I didn't want to start another one on this same subject.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I saw this one for sale months ago, apparently it's not even worth $3800 if they aren't getting any nibbles on it and having a hard time selling it.
