Hey guys, I picked up this $50 dollar bill today and noticed the print does not appear to be centered. I really dont know anything about errors on paper currency but this just stood out when I saw it. Disregard the missing part of the note on the left side, my computer wouldn't pick it up for some reason. Its the same as the right side.
You have a very mild misprint, and not enough to demand any sort of premium. My book shows the note would sale for $60 in ChCU(Choice Crisp Uncirulated) I would say it's worth $50 in VF with a teller stamp & writing on the face. We call those spenders.
If one looks closely at the reverse scan of the note, we see the note is not off center. This is not an error note. This centering is not outside of typical tolerances and is encountered frequently. Clearly, we can see all of the face side margins represented from the reserve scan. While the face scan looks cropped on the left side from the scanner it is not as evidenced by the reverse. Even the bottom margin of the face is NOT unusual in the least to warrant a premium for an error, were it in gem state condition. As mentioned, there is evidence of a teller stamp, ink from a pen (writing) on the face and it has been circulated. Value: $50 / face value , a "spender" If you want an error note in your collection, spend this note towards obtaining a certified error note with a kind of error you'd like to own and add to your collection. :thumb:
