I've been sorting thru a collection I inherited from my dad and I have sure learned a lot in the past few months. I picked up a copy of the Red Book and the Blue Book, and I've used numerous websites including Coin Talk to help me identify and put a value on all the US coins. I've searched all over but I haven't been able to find a source of consolidated information that can help me when it comes to foreign coins, so I'd appreciate any info y'all can give me. Thanks!
Try this website: www.worldcoingallery.com It has been helpful to me. It also has a feature that allows you to create a catalog of you coins using the KM #s. Hope this helps you.
The telephone book-size Krause catalogs (1 per century starting with the 17th) can often be found at reasonable prices for old editions on the various used book websites, but even better they are usually available at your local public library, either in the collection or through inter-library loan.
I must agree with hontonai I can see all of the Krause catalogs and coin collecting for dummies on ebay for 7 euro on a disc
