I ran across this 1979-D Susan B while getting change back. I noticed that something was off about it and then when I magnified the coin, it appears to have some striking errors and possible additional lettering on it. I took some photos and figured I would post them and see what the experts think. Might have something or nothing at all. You all be the judge.

    Thanks,

    Andy

Have you weighed it? A normal SBA weighs 8.1 grams. If the weight of your coin is different you should compare the weight to the weight of other contemporary denominations.

Worth a dollar for certain!! Not to take away from your post but unless you got one that really screams out (amazing) nobody will care. Looks like the mint mark is filled but nothing else. If you like it keep it, I have around 10 or so and the only reason I still have them is because I haven't figured out a decent way to spend them. good luck!

Finally got around to weighing it today and to be sure the scale was accurate, I weighed several 79 sba's and other denominations that all weighed correctly, except for an 85 lincoln cent that was 2.3 grams, maybe another find there. The SBA weighed 7.9g with 5 trials and all other SBA's weighed 8.1g everytime. Any ideas?

Looks like there are D marks by the ear, in back of the ear and on jaw line
