I was asked (by my daughter and wife) how many YNs at a summer seminar? What are the average ages? How many females (what is the ratio)? I see the age range is 13-22. Seems a little old to be considered a YN. Then, again, I'm getting mailings from AARP...that seems, in my case, a little early. Thanks, ahead of time. guy
Don't quote me but last year I think there were somewhere around three dozen YNs at the two sessions. I would estimate the percentage of girls at 20 to 25% (which is a lot higher than the percentage of female coin collectors in general).
Don't quote me either but I think Hobo is about right guessing 3 dozen in both sessions. That equates to about 15-20 per session. Most folks attend only one session I think. One of the coolest things the YNs have going is their auction. In 2008 there was a YN artist that put one of her pictures in the auction & it fetched several hunderd dollars. I asked her if she would draw me an image of Ms. Monroe & this is what she sent me in the mail. It is described further in this thread: http://www.cointalk.com/t43959/ YNs and seniors study in class side-by-side.
Last year dring week one, there were three girls and probably 20 guys. We had some 13 year olds and some at the high end. On average I would say 16-17 years old. I highly recommend going! I can't wait to go back this summer.
