I recently purchased a 1909-1940 lincoln book complete. The coins have been harshly cleaned at the date areas, etc. I can't stand to look at these partialy cleaned coins any longer. Since the coins have already been altered why not complete the cleaning so at least they look uniform? What do you think ? If you agree, what can I use. What a waste of original coins.

How much did you pay for it? Honestly, why waste your time. If they're all basically worthless now as they've been improperly cleaned, don't waste your time or resources cleaning the rest of them.

The reason I want to finish cleaning these coins is to at least have them as uniform as possible. I'm not worried about wasting my time and I have several complete sets, one being an MS63+ so I'm not interested in replacing these coins, just want to make it easier on the eyes. If anyone knows want I can use please advise.

I was wondering why you purchased several complete sets of the same coins? Usually if you are a collector, you buy coins that you don't own. I have finished several different series and values, but other than up-grades, I shift my buying preferences to another area. Otherwise it might become more like hording than collecting. I know there might be several coins that are keys to that series. Was it advantageous to buy the complete set in order to aquire them?

Insteat of cleaning the rest of the coin you could retone the cleaned part. I would think a set of retoned coins would be a little more appealing a set of cleaned ones.

The toning idea is a definite option. Thanks, finally an answer to my question.
