It's a good thing we don't allow living presidents, past and present, on our coinage. Obama would probably charge a royalty for every coin with his image on it.

Its not the socialiststs who want to do that.
It is the opposition that would like to see belgium splitted.
The french part of Belgium to France and the Dutch part of Belgium to the Netherlands.
For some things it should be good, but i dont know.
What we need here are politicians with guts, now 99% of our politicians are just there to make big money and make the belgiam people misserable.
We went to vote for a new parliament more than a year ago, and the votes of the people where not followed.
The biggest party is totaly ignored...

But now we are talking politics, and politics are not something to discuss here ;)

So back to the dead people on coins :p

Just to let you know Accugrade start 1984, The pionner slabbing coin. 1986 PCGS Paid 100,000 US Dollars to owner of Accugrade Mr.Alan Hager to become second Slabbing Coin certification then 1987 NGC followed. My conclussion on this without the Invention of Mr.Alan Hager of Accugrade. PCGS will never existed to slab coin.
    In my Honest Opinion.
PS. 1996-1999 This coin has been seen by the TPG in Baltimore,MD but failed to convinced me of the safety of the coin.-

  9. I've come to find that there is a variation on Godwin's Law on this site, only with that "amazing 11 cent piece".

anothe good reason not to put president that are still alive on our coins is that as long as they are alive they still have time to do something that will disgrace their name.

Actually that distinction goes to the 1900 Lafayette Dollar on which George Washington appears with Lafayette.

I think you are right but that didn't stop Calvin Coolidge from appearing on the 1926 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar, not only during his lifetime but during his presidency.

This law, about living people not being on circulating US Currency, was first put into affect because of Spencer Clark. He put himself on the front of a Fractional Currency Issue during the Civil War. Google it and you can read all the details. Commemoratives circum-navigate this law.

Ah come on, you know that's not true because it would be illegal for him to do so.

And do we really need to see that goofy 11 cent again redwin? You certainly go out of your way to post that as much as you can don't you? I think we should permanently ban redwin from posting his pride and joy forever, I think it could be considered spamming at this point.

Hey, its an amazing coin. I get that it get's old, but you don't have to look at it. I think that he should be able to post his coin if he wants, you just ignore it. I'm with a few others that the coins with liberty on them would be very nice to see again, but I think there is no chance of that. Am I alone in thinking that the mint is addicted to commemorative coins? They have been doing it non-stop since 1999. Just pick a design and stick with it for the mandatory 25 years!
