    Team,

Here she goes "YIPPIEE." Jut attributed as a uniquie 1808 over 7 O-101 without die-cracks. The ONLY known example attributed by the Bust Half Nut Club. More to follow...

    WOW that is AWESOME!!

Congrats! It must be one of the first coins struck with that marriage, very cool indeed. It looks like you'll realize a fair amount of profit when that one goes to auction!

Great find! It pays to look at them all if you have the time, I guess. Did you you think you might be grabbing up a unique coin when you bid on it or did you figure it out after the coin was in your hand? I'll off you double your purchase price! Congratulations!

Troll - I've got no plans on selling the coin now. Probably won't.

Zap - It was just one of the coins I needed to add to my date set. When it arrived I just figured it was a F-12ish example. Then after I posted a few pictures several members (Troll, Joe Garbarini, and others) noted that the diagnostics didn't add up.

Then last night I corresponded with a senior member of the BHNC (Stephen Hermann) and he notified me of the significance of the coin and said it was the only known example of the O-101 variety with no die cracks. Possibly the first coin struck from the die marraige, since all others are ID'd with cracks.

Charlie - LOL, if they want one I guess I'll come up with something. No word on that yet :D

Pretty boring stuff to those who don't collect BHs as my wife asked me if it was made of gold? Probably because of the way I was carrying on, LOL. :D

An absolutely beautiful find there bone, are you going to have it slabbed and attributed for posterity, or just go with the flow.

That is probably the best news I've ever heard here. For a coin 20 be almost 200 years old and still to find a new variety is amazing.

    AWESOME!!!!!

    Hey Bone-
Way to go---on this coin the best thing to do is to get it slabbed and have them mark on the lable that it is the discovery coin---that way if ten or twenty years down the road you do want to sell it you will be able to prove that it was the first one that was found...otherways alot of people aren't going to believe it.

Speedy, You may be right. I guess it's going to be recorded as the first known die state in the next (whatever) the BHNC publishes. I did just join the ANA so I might contact NGC and ask them what I need to do.
