My mother in law has a pile of oldish coins, as yet I have not photographed them, but will do if necessary. She has numerous earlier and later Victorian pennies, pre-1900 and some King George iv pennies. There are also numerous other coins, British, American, Rhodesian, Egyptian, Maltese, pre 1994 RSA including a R2 note, some coins with holes in the middle, with what looks to be Arabic script, etc. My question is are they worth the time and effort of photographing and emailing or not.
I'd be happy to try to help out if you want to photograph and post. Fair warning though... I'm no help on the Arabic. If you are trying to identify the coins, you might try a local library for the Krause "Standard Catalog of World Coins". This is a multivolume set and includes a photo based spotting guide to help ID the countries that issued the most common coins. You'd need to check both the 1900 and before and the 1901 and later volumes. It wouldn't have to be the latest version if you're looking for an ID.
welcome to the forum. The best is to get a Krause "Standard Catalog of World Coins", or the more affordable volume Krause "Collecting World Coins: A Century of Circulating Issues 1901-Present"... or you can try to ID your coins using this web: http://worldcoingallery.com/ ... there're pics and some value guides on the site. If u still can't ID any of the coins, then u can describe (or photo the arabic script coins) and we'll try our best to help u out here.
