I am not a coin collector, and this is my first post on Cointalk. My wife handed this coint o me and asked me to do some research on it. I think it is a Standing Liberty quarter between 1916 and 1924 (since the date is worn off and they corrected this issue in 1925.) I know some were minted in Philadelphia with no mint mark, some in Denver and some in San Fransisco. I need help identifying the mint mark pictured below. It doesn't look like an S or a D. Does anyone have any ideas? I think the coin is pretty much worthless since the date is completely gone, but any advice as far as value would also be appreciated.

    Thanks for your help.

That is where the mint mark would be (to the left of Liberties feet), and it appears to be an S. This is a tough series of quarters to ID in worn condition.

Have you tried putting a few drops of distilled water on the date area? Sometimes they will bead over even the barest hint of a remaining date.
