Went to the bank today and waited on line for Lydia, my favorite teller, to cash my check. She puts aside oddities for me and today had a series 1928 $2 bill! Admittedly it's far from pristine but it's decent. Don't run across these every day!
Nice find. I run across these Series of notes quite often, listed in auctions. Now how about some scans of the note? ...especially since you started a whole new thread for this comment instead of having utilized the strap stackers or new acquisitions threads of the paper money forum. We want pics! :thumb:
No, but if you need a policeman to tell you what to do then post some scans because a thread with no image of the find is pointless. Since you delight in resistance, I guess we'll never see the supposed find. I simply complimented the find and would like to see what you were interested in sharing about your find. It's pretty common to post images or to be asked to see pics in threads.
You don't get to decide how other people post, despite your delusions of grandeur. You are not in a position to criticize, make demands, make rules or otherwise control the postings to this forum. If you don't like how I post things, don't read them.
Delusions? Please look in the proverbial mirror, then it would be a good time for you to learn how to contribute to a forum, namely by offering up some images of said note. That is, if it even exists...
Since he won't, I will. Everyone please enjoy!: Fr-1505 Series 1928-D $2, red seal - Legal Tender Note SN: D 27112803 A
We all like to see pictures, but members of the forum are not obliged to post them if they don't want to. Members also do not have to post in one of these other threads if they don't want to. This is supposed to be a friendly place. Lets keep it that way! I would be jazzed if I picked up a 1928 $2 from circulation for face regardless of condition. I also feel it makes it more interesting and sparks more discussion to share pictures for those that do not have the opportunity to see them. Regardless, lets treat each other with respect...
I wish to clarify that I never stated the OP had to post images. I requested them and urged the OP in later posts, as we always "want" to see images of what someone is trying to share. I tried to explain that as clearly as possible for the tone the OP took towards my posts after, quickly and curtly misrepresenting my request as some authority on the matter of posting. Again, it's both common place for an OP to offer images (this OP has in the past posted numismatic images on this forum), or to be requested by other forum members for images to be added to a thread. For the record I don't disrespect the OP but the intolerant responses and gruff mannerism are duly noted. The use of smiley icons in post #2 indicated it was a friendly request. :smile Further, in attempting to keep this thread amicable I've shared images of my own of the same (similar) Series of note. :thumb: I say, "(similar) Series" as we do not (yet) know which Series run nor block (SN) the OP's note came from. Those details would share with us a more complete idea of the note mentioned. I hope we can see some other Series 1928 $2 notes get posted too, and turn this into an educational and inspiring thread! Come one, come all!
Thanks, I'm happy to share a note here. I think it will be helpful should someone else read the thread and like to see an example of the note in the thread title. :smile
Or better yet a star (*) for the B, let alone some of the others of notable runs in this Series... we will never know without the additional information or picture of the note. But don't listen to me I just like pretty pictures.
:dead-horse: After your constant harassment, hectoring and badgering, the chances that I would post pictures are nil.
Twist those adjectives as you may, it's no loss if you don't post an image of the note you brought up to share here, as this is not, never was nor ever will be, a competition.
Gentlemen, and that means everybody - you were asked nicely to behave, now you are being told to behave. Do so, or suffer the consequences.
