I love wheat pennies, and if I can get them cheap I can. Just last month bags of 1000 were bringing around $30-$35 a bag on feebay Which is 3 to 3.5 cents each. I did not have extra cash at the time or I would have bought them. Now that I have the cash, they have suddenly went to $50-60 a bag. Why such a sudden demand?
people must know when you are buying or not! Just kidding, You just have to wait a while before finding a good deal, since 20 rolls for only $30 is a VERY good price. by the way, what was your best find so far?
Best find so far doing what? Bags of wheats, I bought one bag last year and found a bunch of early dates. Spent $30 on the bag and probably got $60 out of it all.
How many are in the bags? I'm seeing some on eBay as low as $65.99 for a bag of 1000 and the 5000 bags are anywhere from $230 - $280.
I might have to try that sometime, but for now, I think I'll just keep searching bank rolls. Cheaper that way since I only pay face value.
Most of the bags I've bought have sucked, that was the only bag that was worth it to me. Keep hitting those bank rolls... think I need to get a box of cents, I miss 'em.
I'm the same way. Banks, grocery stores, corner stores.....anywhere there's re-rolls. Some great finds at face value.
Yes! I went and put in 6 coins for grading, and 3 of them are finds I made while roll searching. My 1999 WAM cent, an Atypical Die Clash 1984 dime (extremely strong on both obverse and reverse) which I like a whole lot, and my 2008 Retained Dropped Letter Quarter. I am hoping all of these come in MS63-65 when I get them. If not, I will be disappointed.
