Does this Morgan look fake/cleaned to you?

Just curious what you guys think. I'm inexperienced in determining what's real/fake. I saw this for sale and it just looks like it's in oddly exceptionally good condition.

Also noteworthy is how it seems like there's wear-down on the hair and the eagle's chest, but no scratches or anything.

 

i do not have the experience to be sure, but i am in doubt if its real.

Since I have been on ebay, I have had to file 6 claims, 4 of them were people out of new york. Simply put, I do not buy ANYTHING from new york anymore. Not saying all people are bad out that way but they sure do think that everywhere else in this country is foreign and full of complete idiots...

 

Click the "ask a question" button and ask them to email you larger pics since Ebay shrinks them.

 

Hard to tell from the pictures and angles. The lower details in the eagles breast and hair could be from a weaker strike as well. From the pics though, seems there's some leftover grime where perhaps it was polished couldn't be reached as well. If real, it's definitely been cleaned.

 

I wouldn't buy it for it's current price because of the nasty gouge scratch behind the eye going down her face from the hair line. Skip and move on I say.

 

Yeah I wasn't planning on buying it (auction is over anyway), but wanted to hear your guys and gals' input.

From all appearances, it's a genuine coin, probably somewhere in the technical EF-AU grade-range, but with a surface that's irreparably-compromised, or, a.k.a., deader than a doornail.

 

My one rule with eBay, "they have to have a return policy." problem solved

 

Looks like the coin has dipped. It is void of any luster and there are barely any bag marks.

yeah, I'm certainly no expert, but first impressions are that it just don't look right...

 

What? Those are the primary wear points

 

No offense, GW, but it seems that you also have a problem identifying problem coins, too. My advice would be to avoid buying raw coins on SleazeBay until you're more experienced.
