    What you think about it? Original or fake? Maybe some details are wrong?

    The details look just fine, but with something of this value, you want to be extra careful about modern re-strikes. Laser cut dies can replicate the details perfectly. Even the edges can be done well by using the same type of collar.

    I don't see any questionable characteristics. The weight is spot on, and the diameter may also be. Are you using calipers, or a ruler/measuring tape? Precise diameter is 38.58mm which is hard to distinguish from 39mm with anything but very accurate calipers.

    I'm still not convinced. I unfortunately have handled a couple of such super counterfeits and this particular coin seem to be similar to what is shown here especially the details. I cannot explain it any better but it just has a odd relief surface.

    If you really want a genuine example, you can buy them off from Yahoo Japan auctions. There seem a couple that's ok at ebay but again - need to know the seller.
