Aren't halves uncommon in low grade?

That's not an entirely accurate statement.

Though it is true there are no Kennedys or Ikes with 1975 on them, they did start minting the dual date bicentennials in 1975.

im just new to this.. i know the silver coins are worth money as well as the 40% Ikes and JFKs for the exceptions years.. but nothing past 1971 is silver nor did think would be worth anything in melt or collectable.. just wanted to double confirm as i am new to this

Well more or less. However, it's arguable than any error coin can be collectable, no matter what year....if you find the right collector.

It depends if you want to get into the variety side of the series. There are several nice DDO and DDR clad Kennedy half dollars out there if you want to hunt for them.

You can check the '74D for a Double Die Obverse.
