Stories like this are simply awesome! I always love a good treasure hunt story. lol. And if found, just think not only of the monetary value, but the history as well!

You know don't you that you could buy coins from the same mints, of the same dates, in much better condition, and for a fraction of the price of what you'd pay for Atocha artifacts ?
True. There's something cool about buying shipwreck silver though. And, if I remember correctly, the silver pendant that I got (a 'repro' piece of 8 made from Atocha silver, with a certificate) was purchased for under the spot price of silver... 5 years ago. I would have taken that deal 100x.
