I found this a long time ago and it's had me guessing as to what it is. The obverse looks plated, at first I originally thought it was a proof. Then I noticed the reverse wasn't "prooflike", in fact it was really worn down. The only thing I can figure is it was plated then with the obverse side showing put into a pendant? Was this common years ago? Thanks---John
not plated, that coin has been harshly cleaned. It was probably in a Whitman folder where the reverse is not visible so the owner only polished the obverses since that was all the could see. Richard
I think I will take some worthless coins sometime and try various methods of cleaning them. Sounds fun.
