So the first time someone sells a new type of item it means their account has been taken over? What an odd assumption.

Could be someone who has access to the store account and is just using the rep to make easier sales

Heck, I don't know. If I was in the market for such things I might be a wee bit suspicious.

Same here. I'm thinking the seller is just wanting to get out of the game of collecting these.

    So?

Why would it be a problem?

I know several eBayers who sell a variety of collectibles in their store, and have branched out with items they've never sold before either.

Doesn't mean their account was hacked.

could be the seller is looking to put some of that money tied up in the buffalos into his bath business, he goes to a local dealer and says, see here, what you give for these, the dealer says, hey I will give you 10% back of spot, the seller says, hey there these are low mintage, the dealer says, I got ten each just like them in the back, I cant afford to have 6 more, sitting around, so the seller says, heck I will just put em up on ebay, I should be able to get 30% over spot for them.

    Or not.

Doesnt look lit it is a hacked account to me. This has been up for a bit (based on the expired offer from 1/15) and the seller is activly leaving feedback for buyers.

I agree. There is absolutely no evidence the account has been hacked.
I've sold a wide variety of items on eBay over the years.
Could be the guy just doesn't want his gold coins anymore or he needs the money or any one of a thousand reasons.

Still, I'm just a tad suspicious of a guy that deals in bed and bath and then segues into high end gold. Passaroonie........:)

Well I definitely wouldn't put down a penny without clear pictures. That's a ridiculous price for no pictures lol.

Has any body checked out the home repair/ remodel market lately. Maybe he's just trying to get out of the bath they are taking.

At first I figured maybe the seller took the coins as payment for something, but now that its been removed I think the OP might be onto something.

More likely on something not onto.

The fact the listing was removed is evidence of nothing. The fact that someone who's eBay store is generally plumbing fixtures and now lists gold coins from the Mint, is evidence of nothing.

Did it ever occur to you that the listing was removed by eBay, for whatever reason, and not the seller?

It was remove because "The listing includes a photo of the coin being sold. Images that are dark, out of focus, edited, or might be misleading aren't allowed. Also, stock photos aren't allowed." Really!
