So, I need to raise some money for CoinTalk, and I'm going to sell these sets but haven't really kept up with the market on modern proof sets and such. Can anyone give me a ballpark on what these go for these days? I have some 1999 and 2000 state quarter proof sets, and a 1999 silver proof set. I have some 1999 SBA proofs. I have some Millennium coin and currency sets, some still in the unopened cardboard. And, I have some American Buffalo coin and currency sets. I gave up collecting modern coins from the mint sometime around six years ago, so no big loss to sell these off. Thanks
Peter, Sad to see this thread and sorry that you are having to sell off to keep CT going. I just did my part, hoping to help you keep your goodies, by buying a one year subscription. I've been here for just over a year and have been taught much and have been very entertained. Thanks, Peter, for a great web site! Keep up the good work. To those that haven't bought a subscription yet, get those wallets out! Help to save Peter's collection! Come on, people, it's only 30 bucks!
True enough! I did not know you could donate! For the lack of common sense I did not even know, how do you donate/subscribe? The community teaches me more every day and I believe information is free but time is money! Please tell and my money is in your pocket! Update: Found it, I am a subscriber now!ll
The state quarter proof sets have really tapered off value wise over the past 6-8 months. What you once could sell for around $125-$150 for a complete set, can now be had for under $80, and that's the clads. The individual year quarter sets are selling from anywhere between $4.50 - $17 each for the clads, and the silvers are around $30-$45 on eBay. SBA proofs, if you find someone interested, around $3 each.
