I just picked up this 1883 AU piece and couldn't be more thrilled with it! Enjoy and thanks for checking it out. -L
I just bought this colorfully toned 1937 Lincoln Proof (NGC PF65 RB) from Lehigh96, one of the premier toned coin collectors in the country and a former CoinTalk member. I am planning on submitting it to PCGS for an attempted crossing and TrueView photo. Lehigh96 told me he bought it "many years ago" before he started his Jefferson Nickel collection when he was "working on a rainbow toned 20th Century type set". He also told me that the "blue toning is truly outstanding". I was LUCKY to be in the right place at the right time to snap this one up! It's rare to find such nice color on an early Brilliant Proof Lincoln (and no black spots). This could only be categorized as a monster!
Just a few of the non lincolns I picked up this week. I'm bit by the small copper bug, so lincolns are in another thread. Thoughts as to what I paid on the Franklin?
Got a weird one recently The toning looks a little weird, it is two colors and the luster seemed to shine right through the really dark areas.
Just bought this one Saturday night. The seller told me he had a hard time photographing the reverse due to the intense and deep mirrors. This was the sellers blurb: "This coin grades Superb Gem Proof estimated PR66 RB, and what an incredibly nice example it is. This is a coin with simply stunning Eye Appeal and Flash! It is a fully mirrored coin with extremely flashy and reflective fields. The devices are a more frosty looking, giving the coin a nice cameo appearance. When viewed straight on, the coin is a darker red-brown with the devices showing the cameo look. However, when you tip the coin to the light... let the light show begin! Intense Neon Rose and Blue tones show in the fields. It is an amazing coin with a great look! This is a 100% original uncleaned coin, and there are no dark spots or specks as so often found on Proof Indian Cents. The strike is hammered, as you would expect on a Proof. This is a coin with no negatives of any kind, simply an awesome coin in every way. If you like neat toned Indian Cents, you will be amazed by this one!"
Not a fan of the state or national park quarters, but that one makes me happy. I think I'll have to get me one of those.
