When I began actively buying and collecting again, I went to my then local coin shop after doing some research first on the net. When I went in the man noticed me and welcomed me and said, "take a look around, even if you don't have money to buy anything you're more than welcome to hang around with us and talk and ask anything you want to know about coins." So I thanked him and looked around, and asked him some questions about the ASE. Why they had so many versions, how to tell the difference etc, etc. I asked what the difference between and MS 70 and 69, and he said not much other than price, LOL, He told me some collectors like "perfect" coins but if I was just buying to collect and invest don't go the collecting all ms 70 route the ms 69 and (pr) 69s were enough and still held collector value. I ended up buying 1 ASE and 2 Englhard silver bars for 65.00 total. I look at the prices of 3 oz now and it makes me happy to know I still "got in" at a good price. Even at 34.00 an oz it's still a good price. We collectors and investors of silver should be happy and grateful silver is not over the 100 dollar mark, not yet. If it ever gets into high triple digits, then I would say you were late for the Silver Train. As I visted his shop and learned more, the more I realized he had the most honest prices of all the researching I was doing. Where I live now, there is no honest dealers...Not really.
