Does anyone know how many orders of the 25th Anniversary Silver Eagle Set were canceled\rejected by the U.S. Mint? Where can I find this information? Someone told me about 300,000 orders were canceled\rejected . I am not sure how true it is.

    Much Thanks...

I don't think out of a mintage of 100,000 that 300,000 were rejected.
But I don't know how to verify.
Let us know when you do.

You would probably have to file a FOI request with them to find out and hope they honor the request.

More like hope they know or bothered to keep a record. Gotta remember this is the same mint that refuses to keep track of what coins are minted from which dies, in what order or what box of a series were minted first, second, etc.

    Why would they need to?

Seriously, their business is producing coins, both business strikes and collector series, so why would they need to keep track of all that?

What does it matter how many orders were cancelled or rejected? They made 100,000 of these sets.

What purpose would the answer to your question serve?
Whether it was 2 or 2 million orders cancelled, you were not alone in your rejection.
Let it go, and good luck next time.
