Stamped across the Treasury Seal is another number in black ink. I can make out the last 4 numbers which are 3640 but I can not read the rest. What is this? IMG_20221227_084154.jpg IMG_20221227_084108.jpg IMG_20221227_084010.jpg

It’s a random, miscellaneous stamp. It’s not a BEP error and was done after the note left the Bureau.

Yup, not uncommon to find. I just got one in change a couple days ago.....

Tellers tend to stamp the bands on packs of currency with their teller stamp once the notes are counted and banded. Many times this is haphazardly done and part of the stamp is on the notes instead of the strap. The partial number was more than likely the bank routing or a teller number.

Looks like the edge of a bank tellers stamp. It would be considered damaged.

Just a tellers stamp and has no real meaning, and certainly no added value. I would spend it.
