I'm guessing close to 2x bullion value.

this is the key- it will probably top that-----4 days left and it is just shy of 2X bullion- my guess is that it will top 2.5K

So what happens when another of the old hags has a lower mintage and "the king" is dethroned?

Be wary when it comes to buying "keys" of unfinished series.

I'm not sure if you could call this coin an 'old hag'. IMO, it's a pretty good looking coin. It's one of the reasons that I think the proof version, not a key coin, has appreciated a great deal as well and sell for high prices, if you can find one. The only ones for sale on eBay at the moment are a couple of slabbed proofs going for $4400.

"Old hag" is a common colloquialism for the series, although apparently not for you. :)

I have to agree with you. It is one of the better looking ones. I don't know if it is the timing that caused it to have such a low demand, or was it the beginning of the end for the series? I for one, am not in the group than can afford to collect these pricey little items.
