Im trying to decide to send this off or not. I bought it at an auction where no one knew what it was. The auctioneer said that it has been looked at by fairfield coins in Fort Wayne,In and was said to be genuine. I tried to take the best pictures I could through a microscope. lol

Bottom line is I am trying to sell it. Would it be better to sell it raw, or send it to PCGS, and anyone have a guess on value?

I personally would not buy it unless it were slabbed. Slabbing it by a reputable TPG company ensures it is genuine and helps establish the value by the grade assignment. I would slab it unless you have any concerns about authenticity. Is you do have those concerns, maybe someone online can chime in on CA gold, or you can find someone who specializes in CA gold to better evaluate the coin.

Can you post a better picture of the Obv without the glare on the hair? Something isn't sitting right with me. The glare is covering the spot that doesn't look right

Tacobelldog, did you ever send this piece off to be graded?
