I love this thread! IMO, the Morgan dollar is the most beautiful circulating dollar the U. S. Mint has ever made.
@chris I love your ms 65 cc post #23. Sone really nice coins guys, I enjoyed looking through them. I'll post my new cc when it arrives.

Don't think I have posted here, but I got a chance to photograph this beauty for a friend. Submitting it to PCGS As this post is being done :thumb:
PCU said 63 DMPL. If you click on the image to see the large one in the field in front of the neck you will see a wipe. A real shame as this coin was so nice nothing could have improved it.
This is getting pretty annoying, all of these "post your coins" and "newest acquisitions" threads. Lets just make a topic called "Coin photos" where you can post whatever you want
Well I agree to a point, but it's nice to be able to browse through a thread that contains only one type of coin (esp if you're looking for examples)
Blu62vette; Your 1881 S Dollar appears to be a MS63 to me due to the nicks on Liberty's cheek. From what I can see it looks to be a DMPL or PL.
Leigh96; That 1880 S Morgan is lovely and could easily have gone to MS66 or MS67 if it weren't for the luster grazes on Liberty's face. I'd give that one a star also!
Picked up this one in the Goldberg Pre-Long Beach Auction yesterday. Spotted it during lot viewing and thought it looked interesting. During the live bidding it popped up at a lower price that I had thought it was worth so I bid. 1881-S PCGS MS66+
Mike, I will see your MS66+ and raise you an MS67. Such an impossible coin to photograph. Semi-prooflike obverse surfaces with incredibly deep toning that does not mute the luster. I paid a huge premium to Island Coins to obtain this coin in 2008. RIP Gary!
