On both pieces you can find the text PROVA, so these will be patterns. Whether the SMOM officially issued those, I don't know. The Schön catalog lists coins with basically the same designs as #23 (2 tari) and #24 (3 scudi) ...

Thank you for the great link! It describes that there are 6 pages that were sold for this FAO book. My book only has the first two pages in it but it has room for six.

Now I have the KM numbers for the two Order of Malta coins. However, I do not know their catalog value. They are (1968 3 Scudi KM M38) and (1968 2 Tari KM M23). If anyone knows a current catalog value and total mintage please let me know.

    Hello Christian,
If you have the Schön catalog does it list a value in proof?

Picked this up raw at the NYINC show. Just mind blowing condition for this type coin. These heavily circulated and to find one in this condition, fully prooflike, on a well rounded and not cracked planchet it amazing. Very likely the finest Venetian 1/2 Scudo in existence.

Very dramatic medal! I like it. From the signature A. Morlon (Pierre-Alexandre Morlon) French medailleur 1878-1951. Designed French coins in the 30s, but this piece is really elegant!

    1918-S Sovereign MS64 PCGS

Another Sovereign for the collection. This is a 1918-S (Sydney Mint) Australian sovereign, graded MS64 PCGS. Color is a lot nicer and richer in hand than in the photo. Reverse is rotated about 30 degrees from medal turn as shown. Enjoy!!

    Best Regards,

    George
