Can any one give me some info on this one. I figured it's from Sicily, but it says Ferdinan IV. I thought the kings ended Ferdinand III.

    Thx,
    Joe

    Obv: Ferdinan IV Sicilia Rex

Rev: Un Grano Cavalli (I think there's a 12 under that and the date, but the date is rather worn off)

Wikipedia tells me that Ferdinand IV of Naples was also Ferdinand III of Sicily, so I'd say one or the other.

Hmmm...maybe I should look under Naples then.

    Kingdom of Sicily.
Un grano (12 cavalli), copper. Ferdinando IV the King. First coin of this type was minted at 1788 in Naples. Your coin was minted at Naples too. Coins of this type were minted at 1788-93, 1797 & 1798.
Mint master - Cesare Coppola. This coin was in appeal not only in the Kingdom of Sicilia, but in the Kingdom of Naples too.

Thanks for the help ol' chap. Much appreciated. I had to give up for a while. It was driving me crazy. Decided to have a whiskey at The Cat and Custard Cup pub.:p Now I'm just rambling. Thanks again though.
