Tough coins. I don't have one yet but its on my bucket list. Quick background. Many places report that they were made from "electrum, a naturally occuring alloy found in streams in Lydia". This is true, its found there, but the coins were not struck from those nuggets. In the book, "King Croesus' Gold", they detail that even the earliest electrum coins were debased with more silver in the mix than naturally occuring. So, even the very first coin made were debased and the government was cheating the population. Chris
