So, heading to my bank to buy 5 1/2 rolls. any advice? What should I expect? Certain rolls more valuable or pay off more frequently than others?

5 rolls of what? If it is halves, Don't be surprised if the bank doesn't have any. If any of the coins have marks on them, They are most likely dumps and you shouldn't search at that bank anymore. If you are frequently getting no pre-1971 halves, There still is a chance that they are dumps because many people don't mark coins. Remember, keep all coins that are pre-1971 or after 2001. good luck!

keep any that are pre 1970, it doesn't matter what condition as long as they are whole. the reason being is that one half dollar from 1964 is currently worth at spot $11.63 and 1965-1970 one half is worth $4.75. I hope you find a lot!
I wouldn't expect much. If this was a great thing to do, far more people would be doing it. Most of the silver disappeared in the 60s. Generations before you have had the same idea for decades. Magnified anytime silver goes up. I really think you almost have to get lucky and hope somebody cashed in an old coin collection in the area. Because I highly doubt there could be many originals left in circulation at this point. Not to mention decade after decade of new coins that have been added to the pile. Literally billions worth. Every year that goes by they get more diluted meaning you will have to waste more time to 'maybe' find that one silver dime. If people divided the profits they've made by the hours and effort involved searching, it wouldn't be pretty in most cases. Not to mention dealing with grumpy bank tellers that don't want to deal with it. That isn't making the bank any money. Many banks have a fee now for cashing change back in if you don't have an account with them. For what you're likely to find, it will be far, far, easier to simply buy the equivalent and enjoy the rest of the day.
Love roll searching but usually have to buy several $500 boxes to find anything, but dont be discouraged as i have found that its more about luck than volume. Just dont expect to get rich over night and remember you will get skunked. Enjoy the rush of finding something rare, Good Luck.
Yeah you're right. I didn't find anything but then again I figured I wouldn't. Worth a shot. All the rolls themselves were actually marked lol Going to the HardRock casino in a few hours! Hopefully ill be luckier
