Thousands as well, but none that interest me as much as my new ASE reverse proof that just got delivered today and I have one last one arriving tomorrow!
I think most of us have too many to count. I'll give a number I know off the top of my head: 3. That's the number of large cents I currently own.
Depends on what you mean. Do I count junk silver? Bags of wheat cents? Bulk lots of world coins? Multiple strings of Chinese cash? If so, probably 100,000. If just coins with a book value of $50 or so, maybe a couple thousand.
I am a little OCD when it comes to my coins, so I couldn't handle that. Looking at it makes me want to organize it for you.
Hopefully the same thing doesn't happen to the coins sitting out as to what happened to your walls, it's turned into a dingy pasty looking bluish greenish color...
Thousands and thousands. Too many to count. I have boxes of coins that I haven't even opened to look at yet.
do the math A 2x2 holder is apprximately 2" x 2" x 0.1" which equates to 0.4 square inches. If you had about 2ft x 2ft x 4ft of those 2x2s that would be 27,648 square inches of 2x2s. At 0.4 square inches per 2x2 the total number of coins would be 69,120. You can do the math using your own numbers. Remember to add your slabbed coins and bags of coins to the total. It's scary how big the numbers can go.
I'd only add that it would still not be accurate. You didn't calculate the small amounts of space that the staples might create if squeezed into a box together. Also, wouldn't the cardboard 2x2's be actually closer to 0.2", since you fold it over to double it's thickness?
Lets see, I have been seriously collecting for three months now. So about 200 not counting the stacks of coins I have yet to search through.
hm, wheat cents is TBD. canadian cents is about 200, and others must total about 500 or so. i wish i could trade some in for a couple slabbed pieces
I was just talking to two older women about their husband's coin collections.. One said that she took everything down to the bank and got face value after he passed away. The other said that she sold it to someone who made her an offer for everything, but that since she doesn't know anything about coins she's pretty sure that they were worth more. Just some advice to those of you with rooms full of coins: Label everything & leave a price list/instructions somewhere!
A filing cabinet full and a van full. Last time I check around $5000 face value....who knows how many coins this can turn out to be.
I would have to say about 100 and Ive been collecting for 2 years but only recently have I been collection hardcore. Looking to grow it extensively!!! ~Corbyn
