Hello all. I have three different items I could really use some honest feed back on and that is why I came to ya'll.

1)I've been going thru my mom's coins with her and we ran accross this odd penny. It has a thick, silverish, boarder and it's a 1988 D penny which weighs 2.5g. At first glance I thought that someone had tried to put something around the penny but at closer examination I noticed the on the reverse side "UNITED" is blended into the funny colored outside. I am very curious to find out what is going on with this penny and if my mom found something really cool.

2)I also have this 1990 P dime that is off centered and was wondering if it was worth anything?

3)And then there is this wierd thing. It weighs 2.6g adn it is slightly larger than a regular penny. Any ideas on what it could possably be? Old coins 001.JPG Old coins 002.jpg Old coins 004.jpg

the penny is just heavily worn, correct me if im wrong. and the dime is just a little off center, but there is no third coin? neither of these two coins are worth anything other than face value.

Oh and its the other side of the dime that is more visable. The penny on the other hand, what makes it odd is the outside is very thick and goes over the penny (not flush what-so-ever and I don't think it ever has been...

I get those all the time when coin roll hunting, its just a little damage, and the dime is not too much of an error. The silver-ish border is just zinc, which was used in some pennies from 1982 (or 1988?).

The penny's a dryer coin. Damaged was caused from the coin rolling around within a heated clothe dryer for a prolonged period of time.

The dime has a reeded edge and was not struck off-center. It is within mint specs unless it's a partial collar. I can't tell from the pics.

I agree; it is a clothes dryer coin.
