Now its no secret I hunt for "errors" with my kids but I am determined to find "true errors". So lets exam some. There were 3 rolls in very old wrappers at the bank the other day. All were 1979, mostly "D" and "P" with a few "S"'s in there. Put I found these so what do you all thing.
WOW! that first photo shows a awesome die clash , take good care of this one. the coins with the die cracks probably are not worth a whole lot.
Yeah Im about to put the Die Clash in a temp. slab. for now. To be honest Rascal the 3 rolls are some of the best looking SBA's I have ever seen and 90% have awesome toning. I need better light for those pics. My wife is sleeping and well you know what would happen if I turned on a little and started taking pics.
Ok I'm going to throw this out there, lets see what I come up with. I don't buy or deal in graded coins. I was told along time ago by someone smarter than me "son buy gold silver whatever but dont waste your money on a graded coins because you dont know enough about them not to be taken advantage of", now I've been buying bullion and gold and silver coins for half my life but to this day I have never bought a graded coin for an premium price. Now with that being said don't mistake my lack of knowledge for stupidity. Anyone that wants to make me an offer for the SBA die clash PM. I like the hunt with my kids and would rather spend the $14 x 5 coins (cost to grade) :hailn silver or something.
I would'nt send this coin in for grading, this is, while a very nice coin, one of the most common clashes on SBAs. I've seen nearly 10 of these in hand, and I know that the same clash has been posted here at least once before.
You could just put them all together as a lot and throw them up on Ebay with no reserve & a fair description.
