1942p - I had this looked at by a local dealer and was wondering what everyone else thought. I know using photo's aren't like seeing the coin in person but thought I would take the best pictures that I could and get opinions. Paid $12 for it and about 9 others from a local collectible/antique shop. This one appeared to be the best out of the 10.
And the finger print on the sun wasn't from me but has been taken care of with a coin cloth. It was pretty fresh print and most of it came off. Actually didn't notice it till after the pictures. The shop owner had these in a zip lock bag and it was like nails on a chalk board when he brought them out and pretty much dropped the bag on the counter. :rollling:
And just curious, I am not sending this in to be slabbed, but how much would that fingerprint kill the coins grade if it was sent to a TPG? Would it help that I did remove most of it?
I'm thinking 63 or 64 also. The two dark lines in the field above the word "IN" on the obverse are somewhat distracting. But still, great buy for sure.
