Hey I know it's difficult to see but you think ANACS got it wrong on this one? I dont see a MS65 but I'm kinda new to this, so maybe i'm wrong. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1916-D-Walk..._Individual&hash=item4cfd956ce7#ht_500wt_1180
Maybe it's just poor photographs but on the first picture, you can't even see the lines in her dress. The 2nd picture shows more detail, but still not what I would consider an MS65. But I am far from qualified to give an accurate grade. It's just my opinion and I am still learning as well.
I wouldn't buy a coin of that value, and based on such poor images, via auction, without a full return privilege. The white balance appears to be off and the image isn't particularly crisp. That aside, the coin appears to be clean enough for a 65. But the strike, as noted, is on the soft side. I certainly wouldn't expect the coin to grade that high at NGC or PCGS.
I dunno, here's one graded the same by NGC - http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1162&lotNo=3811 And here's one graded the same by PCGS - http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1151&lotNo=5731 And if you check the links found here - http://coins.ha.com/common/search_r... MS65&Nty=1&N=51+790+231+375&chkNotSold=0&Ns= - which is a bunch of them graded by NGC, PCGS and ANACS, there are not a lot of differences in many of them. Of course there is no accounting for pictures.
