Can somebody post a picture of a 1913 buffalo nickel type 1 and type 2

    Should be pretty obvious, the "FIVE CENTS" is either on raised ground or recessed. Variety 1 is on raised, Variety 2 is recessed. Post a pic, I'm sure someone would be able to tell rather quickly.

    I just found out that it is a type 1 my dads friend gave me 10 nickels last week and one of them was a 1913

    You really don't need a photo. On the Type 1, the buffalo is standing on a raised mound with the date below; on Type 2, there is a recess below the mound with the date in it. If you have a Red Book, it is shown in it. If you don't have a Red Book, you should really get one.

    Here are the two reverses that show the differences. That's a Type 1 on top; Type 2 on bottom.
