Hi #4 looks to be Roman as does the last one cant be sure as to who as I cant fully make out the pictures :thumb: De Orc :kewl:
just to add a few more things to silvereagle82's post: 1) the reverse has persian writing 'two falus' ... and could possibly b from the gardner shipwreck. 2) the 2 reichsmark was minted in munich ('D' mintmark on obv)... and struck on 62.5% silver blank.
Hello #2 is the reverse of a roman small bronze from the 4th century, possibly Constantius II, with a VOT XX MULT XXX reverse. The mintmark looks like SMAL? which is Alexandria Cucumbor
WOW thanks everyone:high5: If you have any more info, please let me know. Are any of these worth much?
One more Question, Do Die cracks, and Doubling on World coins bring any kind of premium? The Reich coin has a Die crack at the Eagles head, and Doubling on the obverse.
It depends. In coins of India, you can find Die Cracks, Doubling etc... very often. Hence you cannot expect anything superlative for them. I'm not too sure about the other countries.
The Third Reich 2 marks is .50 silver i think and worth maybe $5, lots were made and still floating around on ebay and such
Hi BjC... i believe the Third Reich 2 marks has a .625 silver fineness, and the 5 marks higher at .900 ... i got those info from krause book...
Right. In the Weimar Republic, the 2 RM (and 5 RM) coins were Ag500 but fairly big; the nazi government made those denominations smaller but increased the silver content to what you posted. So they all have a fine weight of 5.0 g (2 RM) or 12.5 g (5 RM) ... Christian
