redfield hoard peace dollar scratch

    Does anyone have a redfield peace dollar with a scratch from the counting machine. I bought a few peace dollars yesterday and one has a weird scratch on the back. I wanted to compair the scratch. Thanks.

    Its a 1922 S mint

    The scratch could be from anything.

    Considering that most of Redfield's coins were gathered from his local casinos, it wouldn't surprise me if some of the coins were damaged. But that scratch looks pretty fresh, so it may have happened after the coin was removed from it's original Paramount holder (?)...

    But here's the other issue; Why isn't this coin within the red/black "Redfield Collection" holder by Paramount Co.? Did you crack the coin out yourself? Did Paramount issue Redfield's coins in something other than their holder?

    Hmmm... Well then I wonder what makes the O.P. believe this is one of Redfield's coins :confused:.

    I didn't really think it was but most redfield peace dollars were 22 s mint. I thought they didn't slab any damage coins. There were a bunch of peace dollars scratched by a counting machine
