Hey, I know we all love to go to these wedely known coin gigs and meets such as the FUN show (Not here in WA) But How many of us don't meet eachother in person when we go? I think we should get somebody to make cointalk.com name tags we can print off onto sticker-paper and then wear it at the coin shows to meet eachother. Sound like a good idea?
The big show out here will reserve space for ct members to meet up if you call ahead. I would imagine other venues could do this as well.
Here's one method that seems to work well. First, post a message in here about a show you'll be attending AND the day and time you'll be there. Second, if/when you find several people that will be there at the same time, pick a time/place to meet. I find around lunchtime works well since many are ready to take a break then. Third, wear a nametag. I've got one I hang from a lanyard. This system works reasonably well at the large shows. I go to all the Baltimore Whitman shows (generally on Friday). We tend to meet at A Penny Lady's table (Charmy) around noon or 1PM. So far I've met about 8-10 CoinTalk people that way. I could probably meet more if I went on Saturday but I like the lighter crowds on Fridays.
