Hi, i just started collecting coins, and had been using this site a lot for references so i I thought i should join. i have a couple pennies i think might be double di e s and just wanted to get some opinions. I'm very new to this and could be very wrong. so thanks in advance for looking. sorry for the quality, i only have my phone.
also, i found a 1967 penny that just kind of looks weird. maybe because it looks like its never even been touched. i don't know. should i even keep it??
First of all :welcome:, I'm not seeing any doubling, but if you're into cents, check out http://www.coppercoins.com/ Great site for cents!
1980 is one of those years that a Doubled error exists. Check out that link dsmith has and it will give you some good rundown on the errors and varieties that exist.
Thank you I am enjoying myself a lot so far. I have a couple more pennies I'll post as soon as I can get a decent picture. But I was wondering, how do you guys inspect coins for errors?? I've been using a magnifying glass, but either the magnifying glass itself sucks, o:yes:r its not strong enough, cause it barely helps at all. If there's a better way PLEASE help me!! I'm so new to all of this, I just have no clue. Hence the name lol. Thanks :smile
Here's a site that will help to know the difference between a 'error' and a 'variety'. http://koinpro.tripod.com/ErrorVarietyList.htm
Ok but on doubleddie.com my coin is on there, with other coins with the same exact mistakes. If you look at mine, there is another lincoln in between pillars. I'm not claiming to know more than anyone here, I know I don't even compare, I'm just going by what another website said is all
