Martinez man admits to embezzling rare coins from Colorado museum

    I hop this applies internationally. He was living in Ireland after working at the museum, so I assume that is where many of the items were sold.

    Of course not. But everything is cataloged.

    But once it is cataloged it will show as being there and no one will know it is missing unless someone specifically goes looking for it. That's why no one noticed anything was missing until seven months after he left. Once you discover something is missing then you have to start checking the whole catalog to determine if anything else is missing. It's a huge collection and that can take a lot of time.

    I heard about this Tuesday when I dropped by ANA Headquarters.
