error or not??????

    ok so i know this will be hard to answer without a pic will try to get a pic on tmr. but have a 1927 wheat penny but the 2 on the date is strange it looks like an 8 and the lines of the 2 are very wide almost touching the 7. almost looks like the 2 has been smashed down. is this from wear and tear? or some kind of rare error? any information would be great have not been able to find any info of this type of thing yet. thanks

    Just with the way you described it (smashed), sounds like PMD (post mint damage).

    thats what i was thinking at 1st but the 9 and 7 have no damage or any were els around the 2 just the number itself. thats why im thinking it might be somthing els

    I've seen coins where only 1 number took a ding, while the others looked normal
